Director Atlee has watched the upcoming mythological epic ‘Ramayana’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi. The ‘Jawan’ director recently took to social media to praise the film and its team, calling it an extraordinary cinematic experience that will make Indian cinema proud on the global stage.Taking to his X handle, Atlee shared a long note praising the film’s vision, performances, music and visual effects. He also expressed his excitement about watching the second part.
Atlee calls ‘Ramayana’ a timeless cinematic experience
In his post, Atlee wrote, “What a vision! What an execution! What an extraordinary cinematic experience! RAMAYANA is Indian cinema standing tall on the global stage! So grand in its vision, yet beautifully rooted in our culture and emotions. I truly believe RAMAYANA will be a timeless cinematic experience cherished for generations.”He also shared that the film is something he would like to watch with his children and family. The director praised the performances of Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Aggarwal and Shobana, along with the rest of the cast.“A film I want to watch with my son and daughter, celebrate with my family, and preserve in my personal library forever! Absolutely loved the performances of Ranbir bro, Yash bro, Sai Pallavi, Rakul, Kajal, Shobana ma’am, and the entire cast!” he added.
Atlee praises Nitesh Tiwari and technical team
Atlee also appreciated the work of music composers A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, and praised DNEG and the technical team for the film’s visuals. He gave special appreciation to producer Namit Malhotra, director Nitesh Tiwari and screenplay writer Sridhar Raghavan.He further wrote, “Namit Malhotra sir, what an extraordinary vision! Nitesh Tiwari sir, immense respect! Your hard work, humility, and incredible execution have brought tremendous pride to Indian cinema. Way to go, sir! Special appreciation to Mr. Sridhar Raghavan for the beautifully adapted screenplay.”Calling the film a celebration of Indian stories and culture, Atlee added, “RAMAYANA IS AN INDIAN FILM, AND THE WORLD IS GOING TO CELEBRATE IT!” He ended his note by saying that he could not wait for the second part.
‘Ramayana’ cast and team
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Ramayana’ features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. Ravi Dubey plays Lakshman, while Sunny Deol appears as Hanuman. The supporting cast includes Arun Govil as Dasharatha, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, Sheeba Chaddha as Manthara and Adinath Kothare as Bharat.DNEG has handled the visual effects.The second instalment was initially planned for a Diwali 2027 release. However, reports suggest that it may now arrive during Diwali 2028. The makers are yet to officially confirm the revised release date.
Atlee’s next grand project
On the other hand, , Atlee is currently working on ‘Raaka’, a sci-fi film starring Allu Arjun. Deepika Padukone plays the female lead, while Rashmika Mandanna is also part of the cast in a key role.
