The second part of Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ may not hit theatres during Diwali 2027 as planned. A report says producer Namit Malhotra is thinking of moving the sequel to Diwali 2028, so the team gets more time for filming and production. The makers have not yet shared a new date.
Why the sequel may be delayed
The two films were first planned to release about a year apart. A shift to 2028 would widen that gap. As per a Bollywood Hungama report, the talks are linked to the extra shooting still pending for the second part. Its big war sequences are also said to be a reason behind the proposed change.According to the report, “Ramayana is an emotion for Namit Malhotra, and he is leaving no stone unturned to present the Indian audience with a cinema-watching experience like never before.”The report added, “While the first part is set to release in a couple of days from now, the second instalment needs some more shooting time.”Talking about the size of the film, the report further stated, “As everyone knows, the real scale of Ramayana is in the second part, where the war actually unfolds.”If the new schedule is locked, the team will get more room to finish the large action scenes in the final chapter. For now, the delay is only a report, and the production house has not made any official statement.
